HousePureNY chooses PET plastic over glass for many reasons. The main reason is cost. The lower cost of plastics allows us to pass on our beneficial products to clients at a lower cost than if we used glass and plastic is also easier and less costly to ship. Second is longevity. Many of our products are kept in bathrooms or other areas where an accident with glass might mean lots of little shards in places where bare feet often walk. Third is practicality. Glass is not practical for a lot of our applications. Additionally, many, of our products are offered in a refill pouch. This means you can refill your home and outdoor/garden product bottles many times over at a lower cost than replacing the whole bottle. This extends their life cycle and saves you money.

Moving forward we may be replacing some of our plastic containers with glass.

PET Plastic is a highly durable plastic, polyethylene terephthalate, used in many industries. It is not as susceptible to break down as many other plastics and therefore holds up to the ingredients in our products. It can be recycled into other products and industries and is therefore more environmentally friendly than some alternatives.

Yes, all of our products are cruelty free and our ingredients are sourced from companies that are also free from animal testing.

96% of the ingredients we currently utilize in our products are natural AND biodegradable. We do our best to utilize product ingredients that are free from synthetics, chemicals and chemical processing. However, if an ingredient is necessary for the stability of a product and there is no sufficient “all natural” option, we choose to utilize the next best alternative(s).

Unfortunately, no. The cost of certified organic ingredients is very high. The price of our products would GREATLY increase, in some cases, triple, which means less availability to our customer base. Since the main tenet of our mission is to deliver quality products at an affordable price, we cannot currently utilize organic ingredients until the cost of these ingredients decreases. We may gradually begin to offer organic options and versions of our current products, while maintaining the more affordable choice as well. If this is something you would like to see in our product line LET US KNOW!!!

We use a number of U.S. based reputable wholesale distributors for our product ingredients.
